Abigail Hutchinson-Dodd is a multidisciplinary artist based in Nottingham whose practice pushes the boundaries of absence and presence of organic material through voyeuristic spectacle.
Using autobiographical storytelling through sculptural installation with; ceramics, painting, live-casting and organic matter, including her own skin and hair. Hutchinson-Dodd mimics her struggles living with Ichthyosis, a genetic skin disorder, and past experiences. Retelling her intimate moments through interests in grotesque and abject, she re-imagines the self - taking on the embodiment of a mutated skin cell, depicting fragility and decay within a hybrid medical and domestic themed practice.
